Dear Councillor Hopkins,
Please note that I never received any reply to my e-mail reproduced below (dated January 19th 2007), and that consequently I have no idea of when the zoning decision referred to is due to take place.
As stated below, an attempt is to be made by my brother to sell the Lisnamult site on March 7th (this coming Wednesday) by public auction; and, as I trust you and your County Councillor colleagues will understand, I feel it would be helpful for us if we could give prospective buyers some idea of when the zoning decision is likely to be reached.
A rough idea of the date would do, and I hope it will be possible for you (or one of your County Councillor colleagues perhaps) to e-mail me the information I seek before 8 pm this coming Monday please - i.e. March 5th.
Please also note that I sent a printed and signed copy of the January 19th e-mail to you through the registered post on the same day, and that the Post Office registration information can be viewed at the following address:

Dear Breeda,
Please note that I never received any reply to the e-mail below (dated January 19th), and that consequently I still have no idea at all of when the zoning decision referred to is due to take place.
Assuming you are in a position to do so, it would be much appreciated if you could please let me know the answer - a rough idea of the date would do.
As stated below, an attempt will be made to sell the Lisnamult site on March 7th (this coming Wednesday); and, as I trust you will understand, it would be helpful for us if we could give prospective buyers some idea of when the zoning decision is likely to be reached.

Dear Councillor Hopkins,
With reference to my e-mail of June 27th 2006, my brother (Mr Gerald Finnerty) has decided he would like to have a try at selling his 30 acre site in Lisnamult by public auction on Wednesday, March 7th, 2007.
The public auction will take place at 3.30 pm in the Abbey Hotel ( Roscommon Town ).
A copy of the above mentioned e-mail I sent to you on June 27th 2006 can be seen at:
http://www.lisnamult.com/RoscommonCountyCouncillors27June2006/Email.htm
Since last writing to you on June 27th 2006, and as you may already know, my brother submitted a formal zoning application for the Lisnamult site.
A copy of the zoning letter in question (dated September 1st 2006) can be viewed at the following address:
http://www.lisnamult.com/ZoningSubmission1September2006/Letter.htm
As you may also know a Pre-Planning Meeting was held on July 10th 2006, and I have noted that in Item 1 of his minutes for that meeting, Frank Flanagan (Senior Planner, Roscommon County Council) has stated that "the question of zoning the lands was a matter for the elected representatives", and also that in Item 2 he has stated "a particular use or uses for the land if it was zoned is a matter for the public representatives". (Please see copy of minutes at: http://www.lisnamult.com/MinutesPrePlanningMeeting22August2006/Letter.htm )
What I am very keen to know just now, and this is the main reason I am writing to you and your colleagues at this particular time, is when will the zoning decisions regarding the Lisnamult site become available to us?
As I mentioned in my e-mail of June 27th 2006, my brother very kindly offered to let me have one-third of the money he receives for the Lisnamult site, on the understanding that I would help him with the sale.
Beginning soon, and mostly through the use of the Internet, I intend to start informing people about the public auction on March 7th 2007.
As I consider it very likely that prospective buyers will soon be asking us (i.e. myself, my brother, and my half-sister Ms Marjorie Dolan) when the zoning decisions for the Lisnamult site are due to be arrived at, we would like to be in a position to be able to inform all concerned, including the auctioneer of course, as accurately and as definitely as we can.
Ideally, and mostly for the purpose of trying to make things as easy as possible for prospective buyers, I would also like to be able to place a statement on the http://www.lisnamult.com/ site I will be using (to advertise the public auction on March 7th) regarding the date the zoning decision information for the Lisnamult site in question is likely to become available.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding the zoning decision-date information as soon as you reasonably can please, and I will send a printed and signed copy of this e-mail to you through the registered post later today (to your Derriniskey home address).
Yours sincerely,
William Finnerty.
